@WeAreNomanisan

Nomanisan is built on a simple belief. A healthy mind leads to a healthier life.

Life gets busy. Work. Family. Being a dad, a partner, a husband. It is easy to put yourself at the bottom of the list. Most men do it without even noticing. You take care of everyone else and forget to look after your own well-being.

Nomanisan is here to help change that. We bring men practical products, tools and guidance that make self-care easier in everyday life. Nothing complicated. Nothing confusing. Just things that help you feel better, inside and out.

We are also building a positive community where men can show up as themselves. A place to talk, connect and have a laugh. Through Discord, Twitch streams and other spaces, we bring people together so no one feels like they are doing life on their own.

Nomanisan also taps into the nostalgia many of us grew up with. The games, films and shows from the 80s and 90s that shaped our childhoods. We celebrate the things that made that era special and bring a bit of that feeling back into our everyday lives.

Taking care of yourself is not a luxury. It is how you stay strong for the people you care about.

Nomanisan. Together, we thrive.

Nomanisan

/ˈnəʊ.mæn.ɪ.sæn/
proper noun

1. A communal refuge for fathers - particularly of the gaming persuasion - who have belatedly discovered that adulthood does not, in fact, come with a manual, save perhaps for the occasional cheat code.

2. A modern interpretation of John Donne’s assertion that “no man is an island”, updated for an era in which men are more likely to be stranded not on remote atolls but in living rooms strewn with Lego and the faint smell of chicken nuggets.

3. A gathering place where dads may momentarily escape the tyranny of laundry while pretending to “support one another,” which typically involves discussing retro consoles and the existential dread of school parents’ evenings.

Etymology:
Derived from no man is an (island), the 17th-century observation that humans thrive in connection — later proven correct by studies showing that even the most stoic of men occasionally require a chat and a cup of tea.

Usage:
“Following his arrival at Nomanisan, he learnt he was not alone in retreating to the loo for ‘quiet contemplation’, which largely consisted of dropping an ill-timed Clash Royale push.”
